Mr. Norman P. Cassidy, 79, died Monday, July 26, at the Elliot Hospital in Manchester after lengthy illness.
He was born in Manchester on March 8, 1931 to the late Patrick and Yvonne (Kirouac) Cassidy and had resided in Manchester, Allenstown and Epsom before returning to Allenstown five years ago.
Mr. Cassidy was a master craftsman who was employed by Sepalla and Aho Construction for more than twenty years. He then went to work at Pine Haven Boys Center in Allenstown doing building and grounds maintenance. He was also proud of the years he served in the Naval Reserves.
He enjoyed being with his family and was an avid Red Sox fan. He also enjoyed gardening, woodworking, traveling with his wife, Arlene. He most enjoyed his visits with his daughter in Alaska.
He leaves his loving wife of fifty-seven years, Arlene (Connor) Cassidy of Allenstown, his daughter, Lisa Cassidy of Skagway, AK and a son, James Cassidy and daughter-in-law, Victoria of Allenstown. There are also two grandchildren, Aaron and Abigail Cassidy and a great granddaughter. His two sisters, Anita Deshaies and Lorraine Boisvert both live in Manchester. He predeceased by his brothers, Gerald, Raymond, Roland and Robert.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family request that gifts be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 10 Brookline Place West 6th floor, Brookline, MA 02445-7226 ATTN: Contribution Services Service: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, July 30, at 10:00 am at St John the Baptist Parish on the corner of School and Main Street in Allenstown. Fr. Paul Riva of Pine Haven school will be the celebrant. Cemetery: Urn burial will follow at St John the Baptist Cemetery, Allenstown. |
