Name: Joyce Dandurand Dates: Birth date: June 28, 1927 Death date: July 16, 2010 Obituary: Mrs. Joyce (Yoshiko) (Sugimoto) Dandurand, 83, died Friday, July 16, 2010, at the Laurel Center in Bedford.
Joyce was born in San Francisco, CA on June 28, 1927, and spent 4 years at the Manzanar Internment Camp for Japanese Americans during World War II. After the war she moved to Vermont and then to Allenstown in 1965.
She had worked as a dietitian at the Mary Hitchcock Hospital for 15 years and with her husband had owned and operated Lou’s Pizza in Suncook. She was a member of the VFW Post #2860 Ladies Auxiliary.
She was the widow of Lucien Dandurand who died in 1990 and was predeceased by both her children, Janet and Lucien, Jr. Joyce is survived by grandchildren, Daniel Dandurand of Auburn, Jason Dandurand of Hanford, CA, and Micayla Morris of Huntington, WV; and great grandchildren, Heather, Miranda, Jacob, Cyrus, and Lucien Dandurand, and Connor Morris.
Memorials: Services will be Tuesday at 11 AM at the Suncook United Methodist Church in Pembroke. Visitation: Friends and relatives may call on Monday from 6-8 at the Petit Funeral Home, 167 Main Street, Pembroke. Cemetery: Following cremation, burial will take place in the Evergreen Cemetery in Pembroke at the convenience of the family. |
